FNAF Cute Characters List

Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of the most famous indie horror games and franchises. It is primarily known for the particularly scary design of the animatronics and the horrifying ambiance. Even though it’s a horror game, there was still enough space for more family-friendly content to be added. The design of the animatronics is flexible, so in most cases, they don’t have to be scary at all.

That great artwork is solely made by one guy – Scott Cawthon, the creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. He is the mastermind behind the franchise. So today, I’m going to give you an insight into the cutest characters, or animatronics to be specific, in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series.

Summary

We will rank their cuteness, from 1 to 10, just by their looks since most of these animatronics aren’t friendly at all in the games. Neither do they have cute jumpscares. So I’m going to rank them from lowest to highest in a style that is the easiest to navigate.

There isn’t an extensive roster of cute characters since it’s a horror game I’m talking about. However, after reading this guide, you will have a complete insight into all the existing cute Five Nights at Freddy’s characters, who have a more family-friendly design than the others.

The Animatronics

10. Dredbear

Dredbear

This first entry at number ten may surprise many of you since it’s one of the animatronics that is meant to be scary. Dredbear was introduced in the Curse of Dredbear DLC for Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted, where he is the main antagonist.

He is animatronic that you will encounter multiple times throughout the DLC, where he is trying to kill you, and when playing with a VR headset, he can certainly be terrifying. When you look at him outside of the game, his design is not scary in comparison with other animatronics in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series.

Dreadbear is meant to represent Frankenstein, as one of his other names is Franken Freddy. However, unlike other FNAF animatronics, he looks more cartoonish than the rest. He seems like a goofy version of Freddy with a unibrow which makes him even less scary.

He doesn’t look like he should be taken seriously. However, he is cute outside of the game, and the official plushy of him available on Amazon is even cuter.

9. Balloon Boy

Balloon Boy

At number nine is Balloon Boy. He is one of the most annoying Five Nights at Freddy’s characters, but he made it to this list because of his innocent family-friendly design.

He appears for the first time in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, where he is a major antagonist and one of the new toy animatronics. However, he is present for the majority of the nights, where he acts as an animatronic, which will repeatedly sabotage you.

Balloon Boy isn’t an anthropomorphic animatronic like most of the animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy’s. Instead, he is a character that visually represents a young boy holding out balloons to other children. In particular cases, he can be creepy. Overall, the childlike appearance is what brings him to this list. Personally, I find him to be more annoying.

8. Toy Chica

Toy Chica

At number eight we have Toy Chica. Even though she can be pretty terrifying when you have to encounter her in the game, Toy Chica is, in most cases, one of the least scary animatronics out there. Almost all Toy animatronics will be included because their designs are made to be cute to appeal to the younger children in the pizzeria, and that’s why Toy Chica is on this list.

She is featured with bright colors and a friendly face that doesn’t give off an uneasy vibe like Balloon Boy does. In addition, Toy Chica is holding the cuter version of Mr. Cupcake in her hand, making her not look that morbid like her regular counterpart.

Toy Chica can be terrifying when she suddenly appears without her eyes and beak in the game. That is one of Scott’s better ideas, as it makes a relatively cute character scary.

7. Lolbit

Lolbit

At number seven is Lolbit. You probably didn’t expect her to make her way into this list, but she is an official animatronic that appeared in multiple FNAF games, and along with the others, she is adorable.

Lolbit made her debut appearance in a non-canon FNAF game – FNAF World, which got a lot of negative backlash for being too family friendly. But, surprisingly enough, the game introduced a new character who would become one of the cutest in the series.

She later appeared in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, Ultimate Custom Night, and, lastly, Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted, where we saw her entire body for the first time. Lolbit would mostly appear through the series in the form of a disembodied head, but regardless of that, she still seems more welcoming than the rest of the animatronics in the series.

Lolbit always has a goofy smile across her face, and she only uses her endoskeleton’s eyes. She doesn’t give out the same eeire feeling that you would get when looking at Balloon Boy. She was made to be a character that shouldn’t be taken so seriously, as Lolbit was first present in a family-friendly FNAF game.

6. Toy Freddy

Toy Freddy

At number six on the list, we have Toy Freddy who is in my opinion the second cutest Toy animatronic out of them all. He appeared for the first time in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as one of the major antagonists who hunts you through almost all the nights.

Toy Freddy can be scary in the game because his eyes disappear like Toy Chica’s when he is attacking you. His model is much different from regular Freddy’s design, as he looks even more goofy and funny. He reminds me of a bear that would eat honey and sleep all day. He doesn’t seem intimidating, especially in Ultimate Custom Night, where his immature behavior is even more presented.

Toy Freddy’s face is bloated, just like his entire body, and his red cheeks and clueless facial expression make him even more approachable and cute.

5. Bon-Bon

Bon-Bon

At number five, half way through the list, we have Bon-Bon. He is one of the smallest animatronics in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, and he is also the least threatening one with innocent details and features. Bon-Bon made his debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, where he is solely attached to another animatronic – Funtime Freddy.

By design, he is like a miniature version of Bonnie from the first Five Nights at Freddy’s game, but with Toy Bonnie’s color pallet and characteristics. It isn’t very pleasant when dealing with him in the game, but he is a cute character with an even more adorable voice, as voice acting was introduced for the first time in FNAF: Sister Location.

Some people may not like his appearance, but that is completely fine, as he has an even cuter female counterpart.

4. Bonnet

Bonnet

At number four we have Bonnet. She is the female counterpart of the animatronic Bon-Bon, and also an attachable hand puppet. Bonnet made her first appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, where she only appeared in the custom night game mode – the non-canon part of the game.

She is not something that a player would be expecting at that time, but even though she is a reskin, her overall look is much more appealing than Bon-Bon’s. There isn’t much to say about her besides that she is the cuter version of Bon-Bon. Hence that’s why she made it higher on this list than he did.

3. Happy Frog

Happy Frog

This may be an unexpected pick, but at number three we have Happy Frog. Who is one of the cutest characters in entire Five Nights at Freddy’s series, and also an character you probably forgot about. Happy Frog appeared in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator for the first time as a part of the Mediocre Melodies. She became a major antagonist only in Ultimate Custom Night.

When looking at Happy Frog, her appearance is followed by the overall feeling of happiness, and that adjective is even in her name. Just looking at her will make you want to smile. Her colors are friendly, and she looks approachable and also like a sincere animatronic, which can’t be scary at all.

She never had a major role in the game, but in my opinion, she deserves the third spot as one of the cutest animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy’s, because her appearance is just so positive, it will make you forget that it’s a game about children getting murdered.

2. Toy Bonnie

Toy Bonnie

The second place for the cutest animatronic in the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise belongs to Toy Bonnie – who is in my opinion one of the best-designed Toy animatronics. He got introduced in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as one of the major antagonists who would be present almost all nights.

Toy Bonnie is cute even when trying to act scary in the game, he is not as intimidating as other animatronics are. He always looks overly happy for some reason. If I were a child in Freddy Fazbear’s pizzeria, he would be my favorite animatronic to hang out with.

Toy Bonnie is just so child friendly and appealing. But unfortunately, he is too cute for the game, and you can’t take him seriously when he’s trying to scare you.

1. Helpy

Helpy

And in the final number one spot we have Helpy. You could’ve probably guessed that he would be the cutest character in the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, as he is one of the community’s favorite animatronics.

Helpy is one of the least threatening animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy’s, as he is first seen in Freddy Fazbear’s pizzeria simulator, where he acts as your guide. He only appears as an antagonist in two games – Five Nights at Freddy’s AR: Special Delivery and Ultimate Custom Night.

Try not to confuse him with Funtime Freddy, as they are both Freddy animatronics with the same colors chosen for their design, but the only difference is that Helpy is a miniature animatronic. He is always presented with a bright smile, which reveals his entire personality. Helpy’s facial expressions throughout the games are full of joy, and he will never be someone you have to be afraid of.

And even though I’m not the biggest fan of him, I still see a reason why he is one of the community’s favorite animatronics. He certainly deserves this spot.

FNAF Cute Characters List: Conclusion

Even though a major horror game – Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, still managed to produce some of the cutest characters you have ever seen. In my opinion, Scott Cawthon’s art style is one of the most unique, aesthetically pleasing art styles that I have ever seen. In addition, his design choices are for sure one of my favorites.

But regardless of my opinion, objectively, these animatronics are well designed, especially because it was all made up by one person.
