FNAF Female Characters

FNAF Female Characters Guide

Latest posts by Ognjen Miljkovic (see all)

Have you ever wondered which animatronics in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series are actually female? The gender of the animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of the most controversial talking points in the FNAF community.

There were always a lot of difficulties when determining whether an animatronic is a boy or a girl. The creator Scott Cawthon, tends to never really confirm the gender of a few animatronics, leaving this up to the community to decide whatever fits their liking most.

Regardless of that, unlike other horror games – Five Nights at Freddy’s has a big share of female animatronics, and they are equally important as other male animatronics. The female characters in FNAF are quite interesting and worth covering, so after reading this guide, you will have a complete insight into the whole topic.

Summary

This article guide will cover the entirety of female FNAF characters, which means that both humans and animatronics will be included. There is a section within this guide for every canon FNAF game that brought any new characters to the series – Ultimate Custom Night and FNAF AR: Special Delivery will be excluded.

Each character will have a brief description of its own, and you will be able to gather a large amount of information in a short period of time about every one of these characters.

Difficulties of Understanding Gender in FNAF

As I mentioned initially, there is a big problem when discussing gender in the FNAF community. The problem is that the creator – Scott Cawthon, sometimes doesn’t directly confirm the intended gender for a certain animatronic, making the community decide which gender suits them the best.

That is smart, as it allows the community to interpret the characters to their liking, but this can get confusing, because an animatronic with solely feminine features can be actually a male, so be cautious.

Games: Human Characters in the Games

Susie

Susie fnaf

Susie is one of the first victims of William Afton and the Missing Children Incident. She briefly appeared in the Fruity Maze minigame in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator.

She is the murdered child whose soul went on to possess Chica, as she states in Ultimate Custom Night: “I was the first, I have seen everything.” She got lured in by William Afton by him pretending to know where her puppy was, but in the end he murdered her.

Susie is a blond girl with curly hair, she has blue eyes, and in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, she is dressed in a schoolgirl uniform.

Cassidy

Cassidy fnaf

Cassidy is one of the victims of William Afton and the Missing Children Incident. In Ultimate Custom Night, you can see her face on some rare occasions when you die during the night.

After her death, she went on to possess the Golden Freddy animatronic, which she never left because she wanted to torment William Afton forever because of what he had done. That’s why she is labeled as the “One you should not have killed.”

She appears to have blonde hair and blue eyes, and we never got to see anything besides her face.

Charlotte Emily

Charlotte Emily fnaf

Charlotte Emily is the first victim of William Afton. She made her first debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 during a minigame that had chances of occurring right when you die. The entirety of her murder is visible during the minigame.

Charlotte is the daughter of Henry Emily. After her death, she went on to possess the Security Puppet animatronic, which then became Marionette who appeared for the first time in FNAF 2.

She is a small girl with brown hair and brown eyes, which can be seen in the minigame from FNAF 6, where she gets killed again.

Elizabeth Afton

Elizabeth Afton

Elizabeth Afton is the daughter of William Afton, who got accidentally killed by the Circus Baby animatronic. She made her debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location.

After her accidental death, she went on to possess the animatronic that killed her – Circus Baby, and eventually, she became one of the main villains in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. She was one of the most loyal William Afton followers.

She was a small girl with blonde hair and green eyes, which are really important when trying to distinguish when Circus Baby is possessed. Because when Baby has green eyes, it means that the soul of Elizabeth inhibits her.

Vanessa

Vanessa fnaf

Vannesa made her debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, along with Vanny, and many fans believe that they are the same person. She is a night guard working at the Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex, and she is searching for Gregory – or the player –  throughout the night.

Vannesa is an adult woman who works as a security guard, with a blond ponytail and green eyes, she is always dressed in her  uniform.

Vanny

Vanny

Vanny is a reluctant follower of the William Afton killer computer virus – Glitchtrap, which took physical form in the prior game – Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted.

She is the main antagonist who is trying to kill Gregory the entire time. It is heavily believed that she is the same person as Vannesa. First due to the name similarities, and second because Vannesa can be seen in her suit when Vanny’s mask is taken off in the final cutscene.

Vanny is dressed in a tailored handmade rabbit custome with big red eyes.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 1

Chica

Chica

Chica is the first female animatronic that the player encounters in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. She appeared in the first game as a secondary antagonist. She is a part of the four original animatronics – Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy.

Chica will always come to your office from your left door, and you must flash the light to see her in the hall if she is looking through your window. She is the only female character in Five Nights at Freddy’s 1.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2

Marionette

Marionette

Marionette is the first new female character that we got to see after the first game’s release. She made her debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. She isn’t an animatronic that would lurk around the entire night, but rather, you have to keep an eye on her while watching the cameras because you need to constantly rewind her music box, so she doesn’t escape to kill you.

Marionette is possessed by the first victim of William Afton – Charlotte Emily, the daughter of the co-founder of the Fredbear’s Family Diner, Henry Emily.

She has a unique design unlike any other we have seen in the series. Marionette is one of my favorite animatronics.

Toy Chica

Toy Chica

This is the toy counterpart of Chica. She made her debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as one of the antagonists. You can see her in the hall, but she only can jumpscare the player from the left vent, and once you see her there, you need to put your mask on for a few seconds so she disappears.

She is much slimmer and curvier than the regular Chica and Toy Chica looks more polished and new.

Withered Chica

Withered Chica

This is the withered counterpart of Chica. She appeared for the first time in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as one of the main antagonists.

She only comes from the halls, from which she will come into your office to jumpscare you. When she appears, put your mask on as fast as possible to make her disappear. She is the same size as regular Chica but maybe slightly bigger. Withered Chica is decayed and torn apart.

JJ (Female Balloon Boy)

JJ (Female Balloon Boy)

JJ is a secret female animatronic with low chances of appearing during one of the nights in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

JJ would appear on rare occasions under the night guard’s desk and would just stare at you without jumpscaring you or causing your game to crash. She is a pink reskin of Balloon Boy, and JJ can be difficult to spot due to her look blending in perfectly with the background.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 3

Phantom Chica

Phantom Chica

Phantom Chica is the phantom counterpart of Chica. She made her appearance for the first time in Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 as one of the antagonists.

She is a hallucination that the night guard experiences, not a physical animatronic. Phantom Chica only appears on Cam-07, where her face is present on the arcade machine, and if you stare for too long, you will get jumpscared by her in your office.

Phantom Chica is just a withered dark green recolor of regular Chica, and she frankly looks like a watermelon, which the community completely agrees on.

Phantom Marionette

Phantom Marionette

Phantom Marionette is the phantom counterpart of Marionette, and she made her debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 as one of the antagonists. She is also a hallucination, and only appears on Cam-08, where if you stare at her for too long, she will appear right infront of your face to prevent you from doing anything while disrupting each one of your systems.

Phantom Marionette is also a withered dark green recolor of the regular Marionette animatronic.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4

Nightmare Chica

Nightmare Chica

Nightmare Chica is the nightmare counterpart of the Chica animatronic from Five Nights at Freddy’s 1. She made her debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 as one of the main antagonists. Nightmare Chica, like in the first FNAF game, can jumpscare you only through the right door. You can see her in the halls on rare occasions, but you will mostly hear her rumbling in the kitchen.

When at the door, try to listen for her breathing, because if you don’t recognize it on time, you will be jumpscared by her. She has a much more buff appearance, and she gives a certain demonic feeling when looking at her. The creator went into a lot of details when making her, and it surely paid off through the major success of FNAF 4.

Nightmarionne

Nightmarionne

Nightmarionne is the nightmare counterpart of the Marionette, who makes her debut appearance in the Halloween version of Five Nights at Freddy’s 4. She completely replaces the animatronic Nightmare, and she behaves exactly like him.

Nightmarionne has one of the scariest designs in the FNAF series. Her lanky body, tentacles, and ribs sticking out of her torso are features exclusive to her.

Jack-o-Chica

Jack-o-Chica

Jack-o-Chica is the Halloween counterpart of Nightmare Chica, which made her debut appearance in the Halloween update for Five Nights at Freddy’s 4. Jack-o-Chica has the same behavior as Nightmare Chica. That part of her hasn’t changed.

She is an orange reskin of Nightmare Chica that was made to suit the jack-o-lantern Halloween theme. She isn’t much scarier than regular Nightmare Chica, but she still looks really well done.

FNAF World

Dee-Dee

Dee-Dee

Dee-Dee was one of the newest female animatronics, she made her debut appearance in a non-canon Five Nights at Freddy’s game – FNAF World, but later she got reintroduced in the Ultimate Custom Night game. In FNAF World, she is an NPC where you can play the DeeDee’s Fishing Hole minigame, where you can catch fish to earn money.

She is designed just like Balloon Boy and JJ but with different colors. Other than that, she doesn’t have any specific major details that are worth mentioning.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location

Circus Baby

Circus Baby

Circus Baby is one of the Funtime animatronics who made her debut in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location as the main antagonist. From that point on, she will reappear as a major villain throughout the series. She doesn’t physically appear in the game that often, so there are rare occasions when you are able to see her directly, because Circus Baby will not attack you in the game.

She is a humanoid animatronic. Her appearance is supposed to resemble a little girl. And the color red is the most prominent in her design.

Bidybab

Bidybab

The Bidybabs made their debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location as secondary antagonists.  They come in pairs, and just the second Bidybab is female. Bidybab is present during the second night when you hide in the crawl space that the previous employee had made to protect himself. She will try to open the door, and you must hold it to not get jumpscared.

She is a small little robot that resembles a human baby. Therefore, they look out of the ordinary, because the baby-like appearance makes them scary.

Ballora

Ballora

Ballora is one of the Funtime animatronics who made her first appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, as one of the main antagonists. She will appear a few times throughout the game, most notably when you have to go slowly walk through Ballora’s Gallery and when you have to defend yourself from her Minireenas on Night 4.

Ballora is a humanoid animatronic like Circus Baby, and she is supposed to represent a ballerina. Her appearance in the game is one of the scariest moments you will ever experience in FNAF.

Minireenas

Minireenas

Minireenas are small humanoid ballerina animatronics that made their first appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, as Ballora’s companions. They make their most prominent appearance in Night 4, where you have to defend yourself from them while stuck in a spring lock suit.

They look like small wooden doll ballerinas. Minireenas have a simplistic design, and they usually follow Ballora wherever she goes.

Bonnet

Bonnet

Bonnet is a female counterpart of Bon Bon who made her first debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, a custom night game mode, where she is one of the selectable characters.

She later made appearances in Ultimate Custom Night and Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted.

When in game, she will start running in your office from one side to another, you have to click on her nose before she reaches the end of the office, to not get jumpscared.

Bonnet is a pink recolor of Bon Bon, without any other physical differences.

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator

Scrap Baby

Scrap Baby

Scrap Baby is one of the Scrap animatronics which made her first debut in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator – the sixth canon installment of FNAF.

Once you salvage her, she will be present during the rest of your nights. She is an aggressive animatronic, and you must always be on the lookout for her.

Scrap Baby is the more withered and destroyed version of Circus Baby that got kicked out of the Ennard animatronic amalgamation, presumably for being too aggressive and uncooperative.

Rockstar Chica

Rockstar Chica

Rockstar Chica is one of the Rockstar animatronics which made her first debut in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator – the sixth canon installment of Five Nights at Freddy’s.

She isn’t an animatronic that you can encounter straight in the game but rather an asset to your pizzeria, which helps you in boosting your reputation and stats.

Rockstar Chica is the first counterpart of Chica to have an instrument. She is holding a pair of maracas in her hands, and she overall looks much newer and polished, while still remaining the same yellow color palette.

Funtime Chica

Funtime Chica

Funtime Chica is one of the Funtime animatronics which made her first appearance in the sixth canon installment of Five Nights at Freddy’s – Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator.

You can’t encounter her in the game. Instead, she is animatronic that can be bought from the catalog. Her purpose is to boost your pizzeria’s stats, and also, she is one of the most expensive animatronics in FNAF 6.

She doesn’t feature the yellow color palette that the previous Chica’s had.

Now she is mostly pink and white. Funtime Chica looks glamourous, and also her body is slimmer.

Happy Frog

Happy Frog

Happy Frog is a part of the Mediocre Melodies from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, where she made her first appearance. And she is the only female member of that group.

Happy Frog is also a buyable asset rather than an encounterable animatronic. She is not expensive at all, and players usually buy her right at the beginning to boost the pizzeria’s stats and reputation.

It’s the first time we got to see an animatronic iteration of a frog. It’s a very fun design, and she looks very happy and positive, as her name implies.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach

Glamrock Chica

Glamrock Chica

Glamrock Chica is one of the newest animatronics in the FNAF series, appearing for the first time in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. She is one of two female Glamrock animatronics.

She is one of the animatronics who wonders around the Pizzaplex for the entire time, searching for the player. If she sees you, she will immediately charge you. Her AI can often be very dangerous for the player, and later in the game, you decommission her.

Glamrock Chica is another counterpart of Chica that doesn’t use the traditional yellow color. Instead, the most prominent colors on her are pink and white. She has a pretty stylish, glamorous design.

Shattered Glamrock Chica

Shattered Glamrock Chica

Shattered Glamrock Chica is one of the most recent added animatronics and the only counterpart of Glamrock Chica, appearing for the first time in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach.

Glamrock Chica will become shattered once the player decommissions her. She will become significantly more aggressive, and she won’t notice the player inside of Glamrock Freddy.

She is shattered. Her body is full of small and large cracks, while her paint is also scraped off her body. Shattered Glamrock Chica is missing her beak, revealing the Glamrock endoskeleton, and her eyes are disoriented.

Roxanne Wolf

Roxanne Wolf

Roxanne Wolf is one of the newest added animatronics in the FNAF series, getting her debut appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach as one of the latest major antagonists.

Like Glamrock Chica, she will wander around the pizzeria until she notices you, the player playing as Gregory, in the pizzeria. She will then come after you while also using her nose to sniff around so she can find you.

In the game, she replaces Foxy, and she is the first ever animatronic iteration of a wolf. Roxy also has a unique appearance, with an even more exciting personality that is surely complicated for a child’s game but still yet very well done.

Shattered Roxanne Wolf

Shattered Roxanne Wolf

Shattered Roxanne Wolf is one of the most recent animatronics and currently the only counterpart of Roxanne Wolf, appearing for the first time in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach.

Roxanne Wolf will become shattered once the player manages to decommission her completely. After that, her behavior will become more aggressive, and once you shatter her, you will have to beat her in a boss fight.

She is much more destroyed than Shattered Glamrock Chica, with her torso being completely torn apart, making the Glamrock endoskeleton visible. And also, her eyes are ripped off her head.
